What is a player prop?
A player prop is a bet on a single player's statistical output — receiving yards, passing touchdowns, strikeouts — against a posted line. It settles on that stat alone, independent of which team wins.
Props are the most uneven market across venues: a platform may list a prop without pricing it, or not list it at all, and lines for the same player can differ by venue.
Worked example
At -115 on an over, a $100.00 stake returns $186.96 in total — $86.96 of profit (53.5% implied, restated from the quote).
Illustrative numbers computed with the same conversion math our comparison tables use. Prices move — confirm the number at the platform before you bet.
How a prediction market handles it
Sportsbooks and DFS platforms both price player statistical lines; DFS entries on higher/lower outcomes resolve the same way arithmetically even though they are not sportsbook wagers.
No prediction market in our coverage lists player props — event contracts stop at game outcomes and futures-style questions.
