Sports event contracts

Polymarket operates event contracts in the United States under the federal event-contract framework. Prices come from an order book, not from a bookmaker.

Liquidity at a price matters as much as the price. A quote with little size behind it is not the same offer as a posted sportsbook number, and this site says so rather than flattening the difference.

Display method

Contracts in cents between 1 and 99, settling at one dollar on the outcome that occurs. This site shows the native cents price first and the American restatement behind a toggle, because the two are not the same object.

Fees

A fee of about 2 percent is taken at settlement, not at the trade. The best price on this site is ranked after it.

Update expectations

Pregame core markets are expected about every 1 minute. A price that misses one interval is marked aging, and one that misses three is marked stale and stops being eligible to win the best price. A stale price is marked, never dropped.

Affiliate relationship

Odds & Markets has an affiliate relationship with Polymarket and may be paid a commission after a click. It plays no part in the ranking: the best price is ranked on payout after each venue's published fees, across every venue compared.

Approved identity

Polymarket publishes a compact mark; this site does not yet hold the approved file, so the board shows the text code POLY. No redrawn or cropped substitute is used in the meantime.

States

Availability is venue by state by product, not one status for a company. Polymarket is open to readers of this site in 41 of 52 jurisdictions, under sports event contracts. A state that is closed keeps its place on the board: the price is still compared and still ranked, and the cell says why it cannot be used.

Closed here: AZ, CT, IL, MD, MA, MI, MT, NV, OH, TN, ON. Where no regulator action is cited, the reason is commercial: this site cannot send tracked traffic to Polymarket in that state.
