Sports event contracts

Kalshi is a federally designated contract market. Contracts on stated outcomes trade between participants rather than against a house, so a price here is somebody's resting order and not a posted number.

A contract is comparable to a sportsbook selection only when its resolution wording maps to that venue's settlement rule. Where the mapping is not on record, the value is shown as indicative and is excluded from the best price.

Display method

Contracts in cents between 1 and 99, settling at one dollar on the outcome that occurs. This site shows the native cents price first and the American restatement behind a toggle, because the two are not the same object.

Fees

A fee of about 2 percent is taken as part of the trade. The best price on this site is ranked after it.

Update expectations

Pregame core markets are expected about every 2 minute. A price that misses one interval is marked aging, and one that misses three is marked stale and stops being eligible to win the best price. A stale price is marked, never dropped.

Affiliate relationship

Odds & Markets has an affiliate relationship with Kalshi and may be paid a commission after a click. It plays no part in the ranking: the best price is ranked on payout after each venue's published fees, across every venue compared.

Approved identity

Kalshi publishes a wordmark and no compact icon. The wordmark appears here and in the detail drawer; the board shows the text code KAL. Cropping an initial out of the wordmark is forbidden by the brand kit and is not done here.

States

Availability is venue by state by product, not one status for a company. Kalshi is open to readers of this site in 44 of 52 jurisdictions, under sports event contracts. A state that is closed keeps its place on the board: the price is still compared and still ranked, and the cell says why it cannot be used.

Closed here: CT, MA, MI, NV, OH, UT, WA, ON. Where no regulator action is cited, the reason is commercial: this site cannot send tracked traffic to Kalshi in that state.
